Even though your stylish Dansko sandals were a splurge, you know your feet are going to hurt to break them in. To make sure that you don’t end up with buyer’s remorse, follow this little trick. Apply cornstarch to the areas where your feet rub against the shoes. The cornstarch will keep your skin dry. And by doing this, the silky powder will reduce blister-causing friction, ensuring your new sandals will fit comfortably until the very last wear.

1I have never heard of using corn starch for this problem before. The only tip that I have been given is to wet the area and then wear the shoes until the leather dries. Wet leather stretches and becomes softer. Years ago people would often scrunch up newspaper into the fronts of their shoes overnight to enlarge the toe areas.
