Don’t throw away those lemon and orange peels because here’s another great use for them. You can make your own furniture polish that’s all natural and free of chemicals. Here’s how to do it: Place citrus peels from 3 to 4 oranges in a pot and cover them with water. Put under very low heat and let simmer for an hour, then strain off the liquid and reserve. In a spray bottle, combine 2 parts orange oil and one part olive oil. Shake well, then spritz on furniture and wipe with a clean cloth. Your DIY citrus cleaner gently removes the dirt out of the wood fibers, plus, the combo (citrus oil and olive oil) locks in moisture.
