Your shower curtain is wet most of the time and mold and mildew love these wet surfaces. Here are some ways to keep those curtain clean.
It’s important to keep your bathroom well ventilated. While taking a shower and for 30 minutes after you shower, keep your window slightly opened and run the exhaust fan. This air will prevent growth of mold and mildew.
After bathing, slightly shake and straigthen the liner so there are no folds where water can sit.
If the liner develops black and green spots, machine-wash it. Vinyl and woven types are ok to machine-wash. Make sure you launder the shower curtain alone to avoid contaminating other items. Use hot water, detergent and bleach. Remove the curtain from the washer and shake off excess water, then hang. Do not put it in the dryer.
Wash your liners once every two weeks. Doing so can help you save money from replacing your shower curtain everytime there’s a buildup.

1All very great tips….we wash our liner with white vinegar in the wash and several towells that scrub the liner as it washes….The white vinegar and towells also wash the inside of the washer all at the same time.
