Plug-in air fresheners are a convenient way of keeping a room smelling fresh but if you prefer a more natural option, why don’t you make your own freshener?  Here’s what you should do:  Simply cover the bottom of a glass jar with a 1/4″-1/2″ thick layer of orange peels, then add a 1/4″-thick layer of salt.  Continue alternating layers until the jar is 2/3 full, then leave uncovered in any musty room.  The sodium will draw out moisture through the peel’s thin outer membranes, releasing the fragrant oils held within.  You can also use lavender and rose petals.
