I was recently given the opportunity to review a portable charger by Lifeguard via Tomoson. There are three colors available for this charger: black, silver and pink. I got the silver power bank.

Product Description

What do I think?

First off, I like the metallic silver color and the sleek lipstick-like shape of this power bank. This could easily fit in your pocket or purse. I have another one of these and it’s quite big and I don’t like bringing it with me unless I have to be away for a long time.

I like that it comes with 2 cables; a Micro USB Cable and a Lighting 8-pin cable that’s Apple compatible. It also comes with a user guide that’s easy to read and understand. As soon as I plugged it, the red light indicating that it is charging came on. When the red light goes off, that means the power bank is fully charged. I simply connected the Apple compatible cable and used it to charge my iPhone. A blue light came on indicating that the phone is charging. I also tried it with my Android phone using the other cable; it worked perfectly just like with the iPhone. Both the phones didn’t get hot while getting juice from the portable charger.

It has a storage capacity of 3000mAh, though I really don’t know how much that is, I think it’s quite large because I was able to charge two devices and still have some power left. The two devices were not totally empty, though. It also didn’t take a long time for one device to get fully charged.

At first I thought it’s expensive because the charger that I have is way cheaper than the +LIFEGUARD MINI 1. Almost half the price and its storage capacity is 5000mAh. But after testing this one, I realized that it’s fairly priced considering that it comes with two cables, charging is a breeze and the design is very sleek.

My only concern is it has no digital indicator that tells you how much power you have left in the power bank, so you’ll never really know unless you try connecting a device and find out it is not charging anymore.

Would I recommend it?

Definitely! This is a great tool to have especially when you are out of the house most of the time. You know how easily these USB cables, get broken; at least with a portable charger, you can leave your USB cables at home and preserve them for a longer life span.

Where to buy?

+LIFEGUARD MINI 1 portable charger is available on Amazon.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
