When mustard squirts onto your favorite shirt, wet the spot with cool water, cover with foam shaving cream and let sit for 5 minutes before rinsing.  I have read on a website that dye-based stains such as mustard, grass and berries, are stubborn because their color pigments seep deeply into fabric and that shaving creams work double duty and helps breakdown the fats that bond the dye pigments to clothing.  Plus, most shaving creams contain alcohol that dilutes the dye to further loosen its bond.
