long-stemmed-rosesYour partner surprised you with a bouquet of long-stemmed roses, but when you’re arranging them in a vase, you see one of the stems broken.  Don’t fret because you can still fix it.  Slice two vertical slits into one end of a plastic drinking straw, then insert the thick stem of the shortened flower into the straw.  Trim the end of the straw to make the flower the same height as the other blossoms.  Make sure the water in the vase reaches the end of the short stem.
