Some of you may not be aware but showerheads are not just a landing strip for mineral deposits, they are also a breeding ground for bacteria. To get rid of germs, simply remove the showerhead and place it in a shallow bowl with enough mouthwash to completely cover it. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with water and screw the head back into place. Mouthwash contains sodium benzoate, a disinfectant that will make the surface 100 percent germ-free without leaving a harsh chemical odor.
