Whenever you have a little wine left over from dinner, you naturally want to save it to use for cooking. But wine corks expand when exposed to air so you will have a difficult time getting it back in the bottle. Try this trick I found. Rub the outside of the stopper with the coated side of a piece of wax paper. This will lubricate the cork, making it easier to push in and out of the bottle’s neck. Plus, the waxy residue creates an airtight seal that will help keep the wine fresh longer.
