When I started blogging, I didn’t have the slightest idea about web hosting. You may laugh at me but it’s true. I started with a free blog and when I got the idea from other bloggers that I can earn money from blogging, I decided to purchase my own domain name. I thought it was just as simple as that.
A friend suggested that it would be best if I would be the one to host my own site. What?!? Host my own site? I don’t even have an idea on how to put up the newly purchased domain and now I have to host it. So I googled web hosting. If I have to host my own site, I must at least have an idea what it was all about.
I have to admit that it was rather tough in the beginning because I didn’t understand anything about bandwidth, data transfer, My SQL, etc. But it was good that I had to do it all on my own. And with the help of the site’s friendly technical support, I was able to set up my blog in no time. What I thought to be complicated was actually so easy to do. Who would have thought that a mom like me, who doesn’t know anything about web hosting, can do it? I am so proud of myself, hehe.
