The last time you prepared spinach salad, you’ve left some grit behind. Next time you’re washing greens, remember that salt water can do the trick. Simply dunk the leaves in cool water, add a few tablespoons of salt and let sit for 3 minutes to allow the dirt to settle, then rinse and dry. The coarse salt crystals will work into every nook and cranny where sand and dirt collect, ushering out all the grit during the final rinse.
