potted_plantThere is no doubt that plants add life and vivacity to any room in your home, but the soil in those potted plants tends to dry out quickly.  To give the soil the moisture it needs, add cork.  Here’s how to do it:  Pulverize 12 pieces of wine corks in a food processor.  Add half a cup of cork powder to the top soil of each potted plant.  The cork is made up of small air-filled cells that act as a natural insulator and prevent water from evaporating.
